Hi there.... Im Nick.
Ive recently got back in mountain biking after 6 years out the saddle after a bad injury. Previously spent 5 years riding DH up to competition level and hitting all the big trails, but them days are long gone and have now moved onto XC, plus a bit of trials/street for an upper body work out. Not looking at being a competitive rider again, but just enjoying the outdoors and getting fit once again - im only 4 weeks in the XC saddle at the mo you see, and have been banging out 12 milers over Thordon Parks (South to North, and back). Anyway.... I normally ride Sunday mornings into afternoons, and have been wondering where other ride???

Anyway, hope 1 day to catch up with people and get into more communal rides

My new bike...

Tool box was a present to myself last year... It's one of 2 that I've got, but that one is limited edition, and I fell in love with It, lol:)

Welcome Nick, i've been out of the mtb loop for a while too, and have only recently joined this excellent forum myself. Don't live a million miles away from you either, langdon hills is my favourite haunt, and i'll be over there at the weekend, if i ever manage to get my tubeless set up working that is! Lovely bike btw.

Williams... Cool, maybe we can meet up one day for a ride. Yeah, I've been looking for clubs, etc, and there's nothing. Then I stumbled onto this forum and thought I'd give it a shot. :)

Banjo... At ours we specialise in performance Jap cars, and do a lot of drift cars. Also I have a 4 wheel alignment set up as well, for advanced tracking, etc. ;)

Cheers Damo, I might just do that.... How many of you ride, and at what or sort of level as I'm not at a "athletic" level of fitness yet, but have no technical skill problems. ;)

Lol...like it..! We are not athletic, more like fit n fat..! There's usually between 10-15 on a Sunday mate which is a mid paced ride. On a Tuesday it's more or less the same but with around 7 heads. We also do freeride/ downhill but like you, we have to be carefull as most have family's but can't resist the buzzzzz

Well cant do evenings, because i have to stay in with my kids while the wife works in the evenings..... :(
Sunday Thorndon rides could be a win though, if im not riding else where - ride with my old trainer, and he still ikes to push me, and make me ride different venues, and the bloke is a bit of an XC whippet!! lol.
My bike isnt really up to DH standards, but if the trails dont kick to much, id throw it downwards if the feeling took me.... And my actual DH bike im currently breaking up and selling the bits im not using :( But its a waste otherwise....

Welcome mate, sounds like you will fit in well here..

i do Thorndon a fair bit on saturdays with some other forum members and normally post up in the ride section for anyone to join me.

Damo's Sunday ride is a good choice if you can do Sunday mornings, and there a decent bunch to ride with plus some of them are down hill/freeride demons too....

I'd rather ride me bike than the Wife..
