Hi, Ian here.

I am an old(ish) bloke (50) based in Stortford. Many years of MTB mostly XC with a few enduros thrown in. Long rides including the South Downs Way. Favourite riding places; Peak District, North Downs and Epping Forest.

I am a member of Herts Wheelers roady club (!) :o where I do time trials and leisure rides.

I want to get my preferred mountain biking back up to speed. I have been riding in Epping Forest a few times with the lot from Heales on Sundays.

I am looking to try and get more time in Epping Forest and getting together with like minded mountain bikers to go a bit further afield (North Downs, Chilterns etc).

Is there a regular MEDIUM paced group who meet up in Epping Forest on Sundays?

Ian

Welcome to yet another Ian  (we're over populating the site)

Sundays at Epping, almost always rides lieaving High beech at 09:30, but keep your eye out on the rides section for organised rides.

Arf arf...took me a while but got there in the end (story of my life!).

Ideally, I would like to do 2 - 4 hours (with a tea stop) at a "medium" pace. I assume that people post on the forum about a ride and you post saying "count me in". I then turn up, look for a likely looking group and introduce myself. Is that how it works?

Sounds ideal. Probably won't be until end of September (mountain biking in The Lakes before then).
