At the end of the bike season, the beachrace will start in holland
On the 4th November 2012 the starting shot opens a new edition of the Beach Marathon in Hoek van Holland.
The race runs 135km in one direction along the coast to Den Helder.
In order that the route will not be monotonous, you drive around the ports of Scheveningen and Ijmuiden.
For this year the demand is so great that the organizers expect thousand participants.
The starting fee 27euro including the Finisher T-shirt.

For you essex riders this event should be interesting,because you can take the Harwich-Hoek van Holland ferry

Hi essex guys.
The anticipation ,that the wind comes to the back,was been great.
The whole week southwestly wind.
The wind change beside(easterly wind) five hours to the start.
The participants of 800 people were started by a temperature of 3,4 degrees.

The winner Ramses Bekkenk rided in 4 hours to Den Helder with a average of 32kmh

It`s a fun race for everybody who like sand --wind ---and the northsea

We have a place called Thetford here... no north sea but has the Sand and wet, so could do the same to your bike....

Yeah i can hear those bearings screaming from here, looks like a lot of fun though, good to something a little different !
