May as well get a thread going for updates on this as well.. there was some mutterings about it being tendered for last year and looks like Rowan Sorrell together with the Back on Track trail team have got something going

Quote:
Sorrell told us this morning that the Gethin Woods gravity park will be open by at least December 2013 and will include a visitor centre, a ton of downhill trails, singletrack and cross country trails, as well as an uplift service. Our vision is for a truly world class gravity bike park.

Yeah heard about this last year. Not far from where my brother lives (Cardiff). Rowan Sorrell also designed the Gorlech trail at Brechfa, which I rode at Christmas and was pretty good, even in the pouring rain.

To be fair, this is forest commission land, as are most of the trail centres in Wales and they're now pretty good at developing the land for other uses apart from logging and walking. The Olympic track involves a council with little on no experience in this sort of thing, the Salvation Army and probably a load more red tape.

Cheers Eccles - that PinkBike update is great. Stuff like this looks like it has a lot of promise and good to see plant on site.

Looking good my parents living in Swansea is a good base for all this as I also have Afan, Kilvey hill & Clyne (which includes moos trails and some freeridey stuff) and then can get to cwmcarn.
So soon I can add this to my list
