Hi guys newbie here

Been reading all the post etc - love it, nice to see there so many of us

I'm currently without wheels after having to get rid of my hardtail but i'm looking at a full suss now.

In an ideal world someone will knock on my door and say you look like a nice guy would you like this free Trek Remedy 8 full carbon or perhaps this Orange five or maybe this Santa Cruise Bronson!!!! But we all know that's just not going to happen eh! so any advise on on my first FS guys?,

Its gonna have to be a used one as well as the pennies are limited - My instinct tells me Lappierre

Imo mountain bikes should be 26' anything else is a fad really 29 manufacturers have already ditched 29 for some other stupid size and it wont be long before they revert back to 26 again!
othes will say different things its just my opinion

All 2014 bikes are going to be 29 or 27.5 except entry level hardtails and DH bikes - personally for XC use I love the 29er won't ride anything else and it's here to stay (Gary Fishers been doing it for over 10years I think) The 27.5 thing is a lot closer to riding 26 than 29 and I rode it and thought what's the point, that said with the way it's going and having a shop I have to embrace it so will get out on another 27.5 at some point and see how it really compares, manufacturers are going to try to phase out 26 and it's going to become a niche product, in the mean time 2013 bikes are t the end of season and there's loads of good deals to be had so if you like 26" buy 26" that's what it's all about isn't it? luvinit - so cynical lol, you really think its a fad?, iv'e been riding for a while just new to this site. I feel your pain tho ha ha, I don't think they have ditched the 29ers they have just brought in the 650b's as well which allegedly brings together the best of both worlds. you're old skool eh lol

You just need to ask yourself what riding your going to be doing and buy the best bike that suits, 26" isnt going anywhere, but there are definate advanteges of 650b and 29ers

If you've deep pockets go with decent travel BIG WHEELS - reality is though you'll probably find a better priced 26" all rounder.

FYI I have two 29ers, XC Full Sus and XC Hardtail. Really would like a longer travel bike and when I do add that to the stable I'll probably go 26".

Ive been thinking of going 29er as my 2nd bike for winter trail riding , imo most places ive been riding ie uk bike park , danbury, chicksands & porc 26 inc whheels are still king, all mates I ride with still 26 . Think u have to try before buy

It certainly is an addiction. Wished I had found this in my 20s tho, 41 now but loving it

I think.moving fwd ill be goin 29 but until I have the cash to get exactly what I want its prob gonna be a used 26..
