Picked the new bike yesterday! am so happy with it and really happy with the customer service at Evans cycles in lakeside!

Went out for a quick blast doing a few laps around the local bmx track and a little route back to my house for about 40 mins yesterday and allround with the bike i was really impressed! only downside is the saddle is a little hard so feel i may be investing in a new one in the future. Also realised just how unfit i am ! was absolutely shattered at the end of it.

I find very useful arm and knee (or leg) warmers. Got specialized ones and after a few years tey're still going strong. Also get a shower proof, wind proof very light jacket you can pack very small. I think mine is endura pakajak showerproof jacket.
I normally ride with padded tight shorts and another mtb trousers on top. If the ride is in hot weather and plan to go light and fast, I just wear tight shorts. Is it wet and muddy and want to save cash? Buy the cheapest waterproof overtrousers from Decathlon (for instance) and cut them around the knee. Mine cost £6 or £7 and useless for more than 15 minutes and they aren't no breathable at all, that's why I cut them. Use them over the shorts.
