I am off to Thetford Forest next week (probably Wednesday). Any tip on where to start from? Someone told me about sign 24 (??) on the main road, to park here and start from there. Any tips would be appreciated, I don't have a Garmin though
Thanks
JC

Hmmm, not much on the Timber site, other than trail building, night rides

Hopefully I will come across some riders and maybe ask to join

You can head to the high lodge centre and ride from there all sign posted. The red is better than the black but I would do botg just so it feels lije you done something.
Very flat and dusty, no tech bits and the ground is very undulating

Thanks Iain, apparently the car park is extortionate out there. I may try to park on the main road and pick up the trail from there. Always nice to ride new bits even if it is a bit boring.

If you are going for the day, head for Brandon Country Park. Much cheaper parking here! Turn left off the A11 onto the B1106, heading for Centerparcs. Go past Centerparcs on the left and Brandon Country Park is a few miles on the left. Park up and cycle over to High Lodge and pick up the trails from there.

As VW says, it's a bit of a dustbowl, and stay out of the deep stuff as well, it will sap your energy!

I cant remember what fire road number I used to park at, I think it was 19? It was at the start of the black "beast" section.

Used to park near a stream/small river just off the main road to avoid carpark charges.

It was near the pump section, where the berm section was added.

Just back from Thetford Forest, Did around 16 miles (red route) from Brandon Park as recommended. Trails are nothing special, but it is nice to have trails where there is no dog walkers/horse riders or people moaning about the bikes. Did the Beast twice, and the Howes drops (all of them), which made me happy as 2 years ago had a course there and chickened out of most :D

Hi, I'm off to centre parcs on Monday. Are the "howes drops" easy to find? Are they near the beast?
