Yep, I went to Winterberg a couple of years back and loved it, keep meaning to make a return trip! We had a real mixed group when we went but there was plenty there to keep everyone happy.

How long are you out there for? If you've got time and fancy some more DH then it's worth making the trip down to Willingen - haven't been myself but my friends made the trip last time they went and were pretty impressed...

Thanks for the tip on willingen have seen that place before not sure if we can fit it into our trip this time . We are going to get a 3 day pass for winterberg looks like there should be plenty to keep us amused. How long did you go for? did you drive down? If it is good i may sort a trip later on in the year to go back (insted of going back to Albstadt, bikepark).

Never been but seriously looked into it a couple years back as it looked to only be 5hrs from Calais .. I found Rob Coles review - the Esher Bike Park dude to be a pretty good read

A friend of mine is currently out there and it is his second visit. Loved it first time round and think the group went for longer this time. Would love to head out there myself but need to get more confidence and then will enjoy it more.

Look like it will take about 6 hours from the French side of the eurostar. So about 8-9 hours in total. Some of the stuff looks big but there but the best way to progress is to ride somewhere you can push yourself.

Those jumps were for the jumpstyle event last weekend. they also had created a new mental downhill line last weekend for the ixs dh cup.

winterberg is fun: lots if different lines for dh, 4x, shore and freeride. also good for beginners . the DH is a proper one. the ambulance rides at least once a day in the weekends :-)

The DH at willingen is even more extreme but there is also a mellow freeride with optional shore/drops

I would reccomend to spend 2 days at winterberg and one at willingen. and don't forget the schnitzel restaurant near the entry on top of the hill!!
