Ive just started using the free strava app which is great! Designed for mountain biking and allows you to share routes an stats etc.

Just thought if anyone is using this for local rides it would be a good way of sharing rides and stuff, the app allows you to set up a club on there.

Anyway just a thought!

Ive used Endomondo and RunKeeper.

I personally quite like Endomondo as if your wearing headphones it gives you mile notifications and your mile time. I think its a great tool for road riding as you can then focus on keeping a good mile time!

Endomondo keeps doing weird gps routes so I have moved more over towards strava. With the added bonus of section awards an achievements in strava, download/upload routes between the two apps to keep all mile munchers happy ;-)

Started using it today, very impressive, didn't expect it to track as well as it did. Here's my profile: http://www.strava.com/athletes/marktuk

Thread bump. Loving strava, even on the other side of the world! Great for lunchtime off road excursions and trying to beat pb on the hill climb home. Cue me getting in very sweaty and the wife saying, well I hope you beat it for that effort.

Only downside is I might be pushing too hard on some of the dh runs to lower my time and have stacked twice in the last five runs!!

Take a look for Joel bamford with a bunch of rides in Wellington, NZ.

Used to use runkeeper but switched to Strava a while back, i much prefer it, even the free version seems to give better and more details of rides, i know a lot of people use endomondo and then upload the results of that to strava via the website.

It doesn't matter what you ride

I've been using "MapMyRide", perhaps I should move over to Strava. I originally went to MapMyRide because the phone I was using wasn't Android or iOS and you have to have one or the other for Strava. Sounds like it has very similar functions though. I wonder if I could upload my MapMyRide routes to Strava?? - It'd be a shame to lose it all.
