Hi all.

So Ive mentioned this before, the Product-X holder holds your iPhone so you can use it for video recording. I had an HTC Phone before and modified the original holder to fit my phone but it was a bit of an abortion as the HTC is far bigger so don't bother trying to use anything other that an iPhone, unless its exactly the same size and the camera is in the same location.

So got an iPhone now, and used it to record some clips at Hadleigh, as you can see from the pic, I removed the straps it came with (although Ill point out they do work fine) and attached it to the backpack straps with cable ties, it is now a lot more secure plus with the phone screen fully accessible.

Pretty pleased with the results.

To add to Sean's comments above, I had no problem with the original straps, clearly they work fine but I found them a bit fiddly to do up, the cable ties just fit the case even tighter to the backback strap, although this means that it is now unremovable, Ill also point out that the case has quite a complex fisheye lens that widens the view which helps get more into the picture.

wow what resolution are they shot at, considering how naff an Iphone lens is they're very clear !

Pretty sure all iPhone video is shot at HD as standard - basically on an iphone you just hit record - job done.

no problem, but an odd choice considering the galaxy s2 and s3 has out sold the the iphone 4 and iphone 5 by a long shot ? don't take my word for it though....

The only problem is that the case has an inner shell that the phone has to fit exactly that way we can align it with the Fish eye lens.

Inside tip and don't tell anyone but it's the wide angle lens that actually makes it look like you're going faster than you really are blurs the edges of the video

IPhone's record at 1920 x 1080 only and records at 30fps which is where it differs from GoPro which of course can record at far higher frame rates, but this only really has effect for the super slo-mo videos of your friends crashing

I see Jons point about suport for other makes, this applies to nearly everything though as there are millions of apps and accessories that are for the iPhone only,that is the main reason I choose one (its not my fave phone but there are just so many great accessories like the Product-X) availble that its hard to resist.

An adjustable one would be great but I imagine hard to create especially as most camera lenses are in different positions.

Ive just moved mine slightly on the backpack as whilst the videos above are good, I found when I was standing the angle changed and it filmed too much of the bike, its been moved slightly upwards so Ill give it a go later.

Yep with most POVs getting the angle right does take a while

shame about the lens location though, i must admit i did look at iphones to see where their lens was in location to mine, a bit too much cutting and shutting i fear, but maybe not with the help of some q-bond ? really tempted as i could then use the fastcam app on the phone with motion sensor so it will just start when i set off and stop when i stop, no hands required
