Morning all

I have been looking to get a set of pedals, have finally decided to get flats for the time being and have narrowed it down to (unless anyone has any other suggestions....)

I have been using the front toe restraints (no straps) and struggle on trails to get my feet out quick enough so have discounted clipless for the time being

Not necessarily going to buy from Evans either

Any thoughts

From what I have read online and from speaking to people I have never heard a bad word about DMR flats. But to give you another option have you thought about Truvativ dh flats? I currently have them on my bike and they stick your feet to the pedals like glue - their downside is they are a little heavy but the sharp pins really hold your feet in place.

DMR pedals are good, just bite if you catch your shin.. Been using the v8's for a few years and find them grippy...

Also worth a look are the pedals by superstar components, especially the nano one's.... Some funky shaped ones as well but very functional...

I was given a pair of V8s when i got my bike, a great pedal but as said be careful IF you slip off, it hurts. a lot. and scars quite well
when mine die i will be getting superstar nanos, heard a lot of good things and they arent that expensive, and fully serviceable so should last a fair while

Superstar nanos

Replaced my stock plastic flats with a pair of these, first proper ride offroad in the gloop of Thorndon and didnt loose a pedal through lack of grip, well happy with them for £43 quid.

Lol we all live and learn
most of the superstar gear is pretty decent for the price, i have the excel grips, know a couple of people that have had other components and no complaints from anyone (yet)

I use DMR myself and currently have the V12, great peddles but i also have plenty of scars from them. now however i wear knee/shin pads so no longer an issue

Big fan of wellgo mg1, can be had for under £30 on ebay, very grippy and incredibly light
