Cornwall sounds cool Ultrahound... as long as you're not going by train ;)

Tolga... not sure about the freehub as I've not changed one, hope they are compatible.....

Epping... it will be months before it dries out and it was really wet today... fire roads were fine though so that could work.

Have you though about riding up the Lee navigation into the Lee Valley Park.... loads of trails here - http://goo.gl/maps/u65dc not exactly extreme mountain biking as it's all pretty flat but you can rack up the miles and it's a good place to explore ?

Nope, I'll be loading the estate with a couple of dogs and heading down after work on Tuesday - will be a long day! :-)

Sorry for the late reply

Bugeye, i dont know what to do with my own freehub. If i cant sort it out soon i will bring it back to you.

Thanks for that, sounds pretty good. Might try that out soon :)

Im considering coming this weekend on my commuter. I split the seat post on it yesterday but i think i can bodge it up and make it for Sunday.

The freehub on my wheel doesnt come off with an allen key like yours did. So annoyed at that. Now trying to find out what it is. Its a sort of spline fitting.

Just a thought... when you say the freehub has a spline fitting do you mean the freehub itself or do you mean the cassette?

The freehub itself, the bolt inside the freehub looks like it needs a type of splined tool for it to be undone

I'll try and get a picture up today.

It doesn't look like a torx to me. I'll degrease it all up today so I can clearly see it.

Ive found out what it is. A cleaning revealed that its a 12mm allen key from the inside of the hub. My dad said he might have the tool at work so he will get it off tomorrow.

Reverb was dropper post that me and matt run on both bikes and what you tried. There are cheaper ones but you get what you pay for (reliablity, drop amount, remote not included , set height drops ect). Theres more expensive ones but i don't see any large benifits over the reverb other than save a bit of weight (that incudes in the wallet department)

Mainish difference is also that reverb is hydraulic and most of the others are cable.
depending on your seatpost size i might have one you can try?
