Hi all, I am new to this forum, but I was looking at the hadleigh trail and i'm just slightly confused. Is it a track or is it sort of a big open area which is open to public? If so, where is the address? Cos I can't see it on the website anywhere....

Thanks.

The olympic park is basically a custom built confined trail, most of the 'features' are fenced off so you cant rid them although you can get on the site and navigate your way around the electric fences a bit to ride very short sections of the trail

there's a map of the area and shows the bits around it we ride....

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?msid=214451225651816567061.0004ba91f4666944d5fcb&msa=0

The course itself doesnt show on google maps as its too new ! its shown as a green open space. (with a big red pin stuck in it ! LOL)

It doesn't matter what you ride

Well..officially no..but Ive had a sneaky ride round, but theyve put up wooden posts now to stop you.

If you go to > http://www.essexhertsmtb.co.uk/introduc ... t1831.html youll find an Olympics Track thread.

Ive put up various pix of track and some of the test event last summer, there are also some maps of the course from the planning application which show the course, untill of course google maps gets updated !

There are only two short sections actually outside of the Salvation Army land, the short uphill bit with rocks in and the leap of faith rock drop, they both have wooden bars across although the leap of faith one disappears quite a bit, had a ride on it 2 weeks back, ride there quite a bit and looking forward to seeing what the 'legacy' track will be like, which is supposed to be on show tommorow at Hadleigh fire station.

Just back from lunch time ride with Tony.. Barriers were gone form the climb to the bench today :)

Surprised how dry it was considering how much rain fell last night. Although I think it came down so fast and ground was so dry, it just ran down the hills :)

Yeah, tough climb but good challenge.. The rest and jellies on the bench is my reward for making it up :)

I remember the first time I arrived at the base of it and though 'No Way' but it's just one of a few tough climbs on our route now that I must do, and feel knackered but good after doing so :)
