OK,

As a few have shown interest and a few newbies also local to this route. How about a little jaunt along the Flitch Way. Starting in Braintree all the way to Start Hill in Stansted and then Back again.

For the Bacon connoisseurs amongst us, there is a great little cafe hut just outside Takeley

- So start time @Braintree train station at 09:30 (pay and display but only about 50p all day)

- Total distance about 32 miles, but Flitch Way isn't technical in any way just along old railway route.. more stamina building.

- Option to do route around Knotly country park at end of route for those with any energy left in there legs (adds on about another 4 - 5 miles and a big hill at end ;)

So add name below if interested...

May have to bring a mask if this Sahara sand is anything to go by on Sunday... hopefully no one suffers from a serious breathing difficulty or bad asthma...

Been out in it today just doing a few things around the garden and I feel all bunged up, its real fine dust as well, my car is covered in it and all the leading edges have a thick crust.

Nice, this route is new to me so I am keen to explore it (the bacon). A good preparation for the Wiggle Ups & Downs 31 mile Epic ride in 3 weeks. The problem is that I am flying out on Monday am so I will have a busy Sunday. I will have some convincing to do before I make a promise so lets say I am 50/50 for now.

It'll be a nice leg stretch at a reasonable pace to keep on going. You can't get lost on here it's practically straight...

Look out for my black truck in car park in the morning....

That's why you need two bikes.. Or apply the N+1 equation

Haha, true. Traded in previous bike to buy one for the Mrs-to-be... both unfortunately in service this weekend. Wanna bet it's rubbish weather next weekend? Sigh!

I'll probably be meeting whoever is doing this ride about 15 minutes from the start as I live in Rayne. It's hard to turn down bacon!
