I 'liked' and 'shared' one of those annoying pages on facebook the other day, its for a 5* retreat in the middle of the brekon beacons, North Wales.....and i won !!

got a two night stay free of charge in a nice "romantic settting" it says it sleeps Two, now i'm wondering how many people i can cram in there for a Fri and Sat night ?

The lodgings are 11mins from Coed-y-Brenin, or an hour from Coed Llandegla and god knows what else is around ?

The rough plan so far is to leave super early on Friday morning, get some riding in at Coed-y-brenin on Friday day, then possibly visit Coed Lllandegla on the Sat and then leave early sun morning and travel south to Cwn Carn or somewhere for Sun morn and then head home (boooo.....)

any tips advice, must do's an places to avoid ???

Oh and big thanks to Evan for messaging me about the win.. i may well have overlooked it as i never win anything.... :eh:

When you said to the misses you was going for a dirty weekend in Wales she was a bit surpised she was not comeing along...

From a bit of experience i would not bother traveling down to South Wales as most of the roads are Country B roads and will take for ever (5 hours easily). Stay North and hit Coed-y-Brenin (enough trails to hit for two days easily), Coed Llandegla (small skills area which is a good laff) and maybe Antur Stiniog for some gravity fan

Provisionally booked the end of April trying to miss the shite weather.

The missus immediately thought it was a MTB related thing so i let her think that.....

I just put the address of the place in and its a whole 400yds from coed-y-brenin ! and a whole 20 mins from Antur stiniog

Hi,
Done some training with snowbikers not far from the cyb centre.
Good fun slept in a tent on a farm up the 470.
Busted in bike as it started to snow (NOVEMBER) over night and went home.(Hit a Boulder and buckled my wheel and then the free wheel went ( I had a APOLLO halford bike Full susp. It had gone to Paris and back with a 20kgs back pack and panions on the back-no problem ) it died soon after.
Then on to Specialised and not stopped dreaming of flying.
The trails are great fire roads to get to the top . Food at centre,
Plenty of videos on the centre. I think there is another new trail centre open up to the north west in Snowdon so the mags say.
You should check the area out.
Also there is the Marin trail to north East,
Flat ride along the river to Barmouth with a pub stop half way.
April is a bit iffy with the weather . But have a good time let us now how many end up going.
Bob

Need to work out how to ask how big the place is without putting them off !! its a converted hay loft so i doubt its huge but blow up beds, floor space and bath all provide extra capacity !

Nice to see someone win something, pleased for you. And perfect location for getting some miles in.

I think fire road climbing is to give people a chance to overtake slow riders. Otherwise you could get stuck for the whole trail
