Tickets for MTB and BMX (& beach volleyball) test events have gone on sale today. Cheap way of checking out the venues:

The bmx is part of the uci world cup supercross series so not really a warm up event, could be a fun thing to get a crew together for.

I might be there as i volunteered for the olympic games, and because i already work for British Cycling i got on the cycling team and put down Hadleigh Grange or BMX as my preferences. The test events are part of the training programme for the big event.

Me too..according to the loacl Echo its sold 5000 tickets which is a sold out I believe, its also to test the infrastructure of trains and road routes I believe. Not decided whether to cycle there (depends on how secure their facilities are) or whether to take advantage of the train/bus shuttle.

Had a ride round there he other day and theyve done quite a bit more, to the track and various access routes, had a quick go of some of the bits of track in the public area too..should be enjoyable if the sun stays out :)

I'm surprised (being a DH'er) how little (in fact none except a helmet) protection they wear, the course is strewn with lovely jagged rocks and it doesnt bear thinking about should you fall off (I have a nice scar on my leg/shin from it)...still I guess they plan to stay on their bikes ! :)
