Hi All,

Hope everyone is ok!!! 8-)

My name is Matt i am 26 from Ipswich. I have been riding since i was a nipper and have been racing on and off since i was 12. I enjoy all sorts of riding from XC to DH but always like a good bit of speed and airtime, I am currently racing the NPS4x series and prior to that won the Eastern Region XC Championship.

I normally ride Braintree BMX track, Ipswich BMX track, Chicksands and Danbury although love to go and ride new place.

I currently have 3 bikes:

For XC duties I have a Votec Tox. This was the bike i raced and won on so is pretty old skool with Magura Raceline rim brakes. It might not cope too well in thick mud because of being rim brakes but on a nice dry ride its a wonderful bike. Havent got a pic of it at the moment unfortunately.

For DJ duties i have my 2010 4x bike which i have converted. It is an Orange MsIsle which i have custom built. It now only runs single speed with a rear brake.

For 4x race duties i have recently finished my new Yeti DJ. This is my baby and really looking forward to riding it more!

Anyways i will shut up now!

Cheers,

Matt

Hi Peeps,

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Banner999, It varies from race to race. The problem is that the 'fun' and 'big fun' catagories are non point scoring catagories so therefore there is not the necessity to turn up to every race as it doesnt count to a table. If you want to race PORC just go for it! I entered my first 4x race at round 1 at UK Bike Park last year and had never been to a race or even done a gate start. I only raced Big Fun last year and by the end of the season I had a 2nd in an NPS round and a 2nd in the Big Fun catagory of the national champs. If you want any advice or tips just ask and don't forget you wont be the only newbie to 4x in that gate so go out and enjoy it!!! I think the 2010 round 1 vid from UKBP has the fun and big fun finals on..I will find a link for you!!!

Thanks Trax, I will actually be at Danbury this sunday on the Yeti so if you see me say hi!!!

Gladdice, you have very keen eyes for that time in the morning!!! You were probably more woken up by the Pro 2 freewheel!! Yes that was me. I used to work in London so did 20 miles a day on that to and from the station and to work. Now got a new job more locally so unfortunately you wont see it on the trains anymore!! Hope to see you at Danbury soon too!!!

Thanks again for the warm welcome guys! :)

Thank Karve. The Yeti is a real gem to ride too!! I tried to kit it with the best performance at lowest weight so went with things like XTR brakes, Chris King, Fox etc.

I shall have to check that place out as it would be cool to find some more mtb'ers to ride with without having to go all the way to chicky every time! Is there a postcode for that area or even google map co-ords as would love to check it out.
