We've seen cardboard bikes (search this forum) but now cardboard helmets are about to hit the shops:

Apparently they're better than polystyrene at absorbing impacts.

Apparently the cardboard is 'treated' and survived 7 hours immersed in water, not really the same as a real world test though!

That's about 2 winter rides then.... with the mud and the sweat!! :crazy:

Not too bad. If lost in the woods overnight it would probably help start a fire & I imagine you could eat it, if you had to.
