I been told I need 45mm 1.1/8 but not tapered, So send email asking if FSA Orbit Z No.9Mcup Integrated Headset would fit not to get a wrong size again!

And it doesn't

Spence your bike is a Rockhopper isn't it? What year? Doesn't it just take the standard 1 1/8" external headset? Doesn't look like the headtube support any other type.

Ah in that case it's a 1 1/8" Semi-integrated 44/50mm but that might depend on the frame year so let us know what year the frame is as they used different headsets in the earlier models. Also measure that inner and outer diameters of both the top and the bottom of the head tube.

Don't know any decent shops, using public transport to.

Was going to use a club hammer but there no way going to fit.

Where are you based, I've got a vice you can wind it up in when you get the correct size!

The 1.5 and the 1,1/8 refers to the inside diameter of the headset, or the size of the steerer. Not the frame....

Are your forks tapered ? if so you'll need a tapered headset, you also need one with a cup size of 34mm ID

I've used the hammer skateboard wheel method but got this last time

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 1135706264

It's still a little bit sketchy, but for the money and a bit of care, it's fine for the occasional job and better than spending loads on a proper tool for a one off job.
