Hi, I need a new set of cranks for my 2009/10 Carrera Fury, I'm going to change the BB as well.
Do I have to get like for like or can I use a diffent type of BB and crank fittings.
What would be the best type of bottom bracket to go for?
I've only ever replaced with the same but can I get a BB30 with an adapter.
What would the thread size be on my bike?

You frame dictates what type of BB you can fit sometimes and the BB dictates what type of crank you can fit through it, to make this a little confusing you can get BB's for most frame types (push fit / screw in / external) that will take most crank types (hollowtech / octalink /isis/square taper)

like for like is the easy option, if you dont go like for like look at width of the bottom bracket on the frame as you may need some spacers to align everything.
