Have a look at the 661 stuff, mines like a mesh with the armour sewn In, was fine when on mx bikes. Might be hotter on a mountain bike though. I've also got knee calipers that are pads which also help stop your knee twisting and breaking. I do have an open face mx helmet if that's not an over kill..

You can wear the mesh type over a t-shirt and have it as your top layer in summer do the same in winter and just put a hoodie etc on top. I'll dig it out and have a look ad not used it for 2 yrs.

Your welcome to give mine a try if you like..

Hello Festa, Looks like you've had a ton of good advice from the lads already! :D
I started out with a GT Avalanche from Luke at Tritons, 4 or 5 years ago. A lovely bike, but mine's a bit like Triggers broom, I don't think anything on it is original anymore (even the frame), but I love it.
Since that one, I've had a Trek from Luke, and 2 kids Trek bikes. Always great service there.

I need to get out more though as mine are getting covered in cobwebs!

Oh, i'm South Ockendon too. :D

What I would suggest, You give triton a call and speak to Luke, tell him you are from the forum and an insight to what you might want. Im not sure how many bikes would be on show as they have recently moved to the new address in Debden/Loughton but at the old address sometimes they would have to set up the bike. A courtesy call could be an advantage as you probably wont want to make the journey without at least seeing the bikes in the flesh. Hope this helps and goodluck.

PS - Luke is very knowledgable and approachable ;)
