Yep them hills where killers, well my legs anyway.. Good layed out course but a tuff one to finish on. Some of the guys just came past me up the hills like a steam train and as if the hill was not their.....

Down hill sections where fun and dodging all the spent water bottles was good fun also on these sections, but some of the sharp bends cought out a few people...

Dead tired!
Really tough course if done at race pace. Last lap it was excruciating pain. I could easily do all the climbs except the last 2 on the last lap where I had to take it really easy. I enjoyed battling against other riders with different characteristics. I dropped them on the climbs, they dropped me on fire road flatish parts. I'll also give top marks to the short and tricky downhill bits. And, as usual, the fast guys from outer space flying uphill

Is that the Thetford winter series you mean? If i'm free on those weekend and staying in Colchester I'll be doing them I think. Spent enough time training in Thetford might as well go have some fun there :)

MSG did a pre season winter warm up series, but thetford winter series is the best known one. Its also ideal if you want to upgrade your bike, as it will kill all moving components with is wet sandy mud.

Great effort yesterday by those that bit the bullet and did two hours... Great course, but some wicked, draggy climbs. And good job it didn't rain or those descents would have been properly sketchy by the end.

I was purely observing yesterday, but was a good afternoon out. Bumped into shouldgetoutmore (Clayton) taking pics at the bottom of the long, rapid descent - be good to see them...

Recognised Sarpullido (Javier) cranking round, and chatman - left you guys to catch your breath and compare war stories at the end, faffed around with a friend getting bacon rolls and you'd disappeared! Can't blame you not hanging around after that...

Impressively consistent time by Javier (on here: http://www.timelaps.co.uk/assets/upload ... 18/09/2011) - go Royal Metal!

Fingers crossed I'll be in for the Winter Series come November, so hopefully catch some of you there.

Thanks jmac!
I did 2 first flying laps and then slowly was slowing down. My last lap was really bad compared to the rest and lost 2 positions.

I said here I'd have number 110 but forgot it at home and had instead 810.

Those times didn't look too shabby to me! Looked like you were motoring whenever I caught you...

By the way, writing this just as I'm watching Megadeth and Anthrax from Sonisphere 2011. Metal royalty indeed!

Just get yourself some slicks and get out on the roads over the winter, no excuse for the weather holding you back :P
