Title says it all really. Keen to get out with the little one but need some bonce protection. Her head measures about 45 cm and most kids helmets seem to start around 50 cm. Any advice welcome.

Yeah kids helmets do start about 50 as I looked when my son was about that age. However I felt that it wasn't needed as he was in the trailer which was very secure and I wasn't doing anything more than fireroads. I've bought a giro for him which has been great especially with the rocloc securing everything which you can see in my avatar. I have rolled my trailer with my 6 month old and it was very secure so would recommend riding with a trailer if you can't get a helmet rather than a rear seat.

I'm pretty sure the MET helmets we sell start smaller than 50, may be about 46.
Have a look at those they are nice helmets :)

Specialized Small Fry start at 47cm, MET Elfo S start at 46cm. If you get really stuck you could try http://www.thudguard.com/

Respect for thinking about the little dude.

Drives me mad seeing some rider on a nice bike and all the gear with their kid which is wearing nothing.

My little girl has had this one from when she was a year - very happy with it and still going strong.

front seat vs rear seat vs trailer - now that might be along debate/chat !

No what drives me mad is the opposite, kids with helmets on and parents not wearing anything. 1. It's not leading a good example and basically saying do as I say not as I do and 2. If the parent has an accident and is knocked unconscious then what will the child do, particularly if they are on the back of the bike in a seat.
Also parents that let kids run around the back seat of a car without wearing a seatbelt grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr  rant over.

Cheers for the feedback fellas - went for this one in the end as they had in stock at a local shop

Seems well made and the adjustable strap for the head works better than the one on my giro!

What's the model of that Karve? I can see it's an Abus but not sure of the model. Look pretty nifty, might get one for my 2 year old. Living just off the Fltich Way now so could possibly take her and her 3 year old sister for a ride in a trailer if I get one.
