No but I can verify that that is an awesome route.. it takes in all of the best bits of the Surrey hills apart from cold harbour in one hit. Have fun mate!

Haha!! Yes, this was a last minute decision. I need to do a long route in preparation for the race. On Wednesday I'm going to Caesar's Camp (the venue) and see if I can find some of the trails for the race. If not, then at least I'll have an idea of the terrain. It'll be a more relaxed approach, focusing on technique, repeating sections and so on. If anyone wants to come Wednesday, perfect! Nearest rail station Aldershot

Chavy, I wish I could. Its a little far for me to get to tomorrow plus I said I'd partake in the local Epping one tomorrow too. I does sound epic though..I'm really jealous.

If you are doing it next week let me know as soon as you know and I'll be there.

Hey Chevy,

I'll keep ya company, only ridden a small part of the south downs before.

Only doing it if you don't film me going over the bars again though

So exactly where do you want to meet? Nirvana cycles? Or exactly where the start is on your Garmin Map in Logmore Lane?

I'm driving a X reg light blue Bmw estate so look out for me mate as I don't know the route and it's an hours drive for me to get there.

See you at 8.30.

Cheers,

Phil.

Has anyone Chevy's number to text him to say I'm coming in case he doesn't check the forum this morning?

Apologies for late response. I didn't have internet.

Goatee, that's bad!! I went to bed early, got up 430am finishing with the bike and left home 6:50am. No, I don't remember checking the forum that Sunday. 2 better than 1 for this long ride. Next time!

The ride was a killer. Some climbs were really tough. Those Nirvana cycle guys are quite fit!. It was cold but after 40-50 minutes I was fine. I started the course from Gomshall railway, did the short loop first around Dorking and it was easy to follow garmin map. Mix of country lanes, fireroads and some singletrack, but not very technical. Once I started the second half I passed by Nirvana cycles and immediately started a very long climb. Then things got a bit worse at Leith Hill (there's a tower on top I think) cause it was impossible to follow the maze of trails over there. It would've been much better to ride with someone local. Then the same happened on the second of 3 hills in a row, with loads of superb singletrack, drops, bombholes and so, really entertaining. I remember getting to the parking of the 3rd hill after 50km, where I rode with Beardee for first time. Right after that I attacked Barry knows best, one of the best 3 minute bits of Surrey Hills. Navigating was easy somehow and then easy the last kms on the road to Gomshall.
Mud free except for some short sections. I didn't stop to rest, just for some minor problems or to take food or find the trail. I was tempted nearly at the end when I passed by the shop where all riders stop for cake. It took me 5 hours moving time and almost 2000 metres climbing, more than they did because of missing turns ouch!

Brilliant!!

Which three courses? You mean the three hills? I remember first ine quite long but easy and the other 2 were ok, can't tell you. The first part of my ride had 2 much tougher hills.
