My avatar is me on my coiler doing the Chatel road gap - it's been enough bike for me, just a bit harder on the arms and a bit slower when doing full on DH runs, only ever felt like I needed more suspension in the Alpes and maybe Cwmcarn so I'd say Coiler is better for the UK as there will be more times you want to pedal than need an inch more travel.

Just remembered this

Were chatel
and the other m8 iv heard of them but not looked on there web sites

so a good bike to start out from and has potential to be made in to a really good bike onley problem could do with bigger travel forks

Chatel is French Alpes - spent a few days based in Morzine a couple of years a go.

Cwmcarn is south wales, good DH track with uplift but also good for XC loops.

If you want bigger than 160mm forks go for the Stinky, but no need for bigger than that these days in my opinion for riding the places you've mentioned.

XC = cross country

I would assume the frames are both as strong as each other, unless damaged or defective, the Stinky just has about an inch more suspension an so won't pedal as well.

Sorry not got a recent pic to hand but here it is a few years ago as it was at the time - a few different parts now but basically the same. I think it is a 2007 I picked up on sale in 2008 for £900/1000 or so so its done me alright so far.
