Unless some ones got a better idea? and as the snows not looking like it gonna fook off yet ill prob be doing a mile cruncher this Saturday. Will be riding from Belhus woods through Celey and Berwick woods out to Hornchurch country park and Ingrebourn Hill, then will be crossing over to the Thames chase and riding back along the river bank to the RSPB site at Rainham marshes and stopping for a tea break munch and laugh at bird watchers, then i may well do the same loop back weather/time permitting or will cut across to start point if needed then home so will be either about 17 miles or 34'ish..

its nothing technical really just a leg stretcher with some nice views..

time to be confirmed but would think around mid morning

Might be up for this, as work has scuppered Sunday ride plans. Depends how soon I get my wheel back (having a new spoke put in, should be done by 11am though)

I might be able to meet up if its lunchtime onwards,if no one minds. I need to shoot over to lakeside and get a new lid, my old one fell apart last week, first thing.

Would think it will be around midday anyway but need to confirm with Cempa as he's working first thing tomorrow so will post up soon as I know..

Reckon 11.30 belhus swiming pool park sounds about right for anyone who's comming !

All the drops are ridable over Berwick now i did them yesterday, snow was still hard going so i just did the 17 miles ..

lets say 1130 then and if anyone cant make it post up and will try to sort something out..

dress warm as its gonna be cold at times and bring some dosh for the cafe..

Sorry fellas only just got up my, 4am start and 8 hour round trip to Hereford on Thursday has caught up with me. Im not likely to make it for 11:30. Dont want to hold you up so might catch you at Hornchurch or Ingrebourne later on. What time do you recon you would get to the RSPB?

i have a Helmet you can borrow if you like..

Probably nearer 12.30 so probably best if i just try and catch you mid route. I tried loads of helmets on on wednesday and didnt like any of them except a £30 one in evans. they all felt that i could slide them off unless i ratcheted them right up tight, going to snow and rock in romford to try a fox flux before going to halfords and evans

If you are over lakeside mate try decathlon, and also thy have opened op a go outdoors shop, they have a few lids in there

Ok mate. no worries, hard to tell what time we will be when and were. if we leave at 1130 then i guess will get to ingrebourne hill about 1230--1245 and the RSPB about 1-1,15pm depending if we have a play on the trails on route or just ride through. i dont no if we will be riding back from the RSPB to Belhus or going home from there on road which for us is only about 4 miles..

like i say if you just want to get out and save time then you welcome to use my specialized lid today if you want as i dont use it, its just a standard cycle type with the ratchet..

Cheers for the offer but need to sort one as I have been putting off going riding and I only have today to do it. Worst case senario is I get dropped off at RSPB to say hi and ride back to Romford.

Sigh. Back wheel still at bike shop having spoke replaced so no riding for me today..... Next time! Might go for an early morning blast tomorrow as I have a job in London around 10.30am.

You two missed a nice ride today, the scenery around Belhus lakes was stunning today, lakes are frozen solid.

we topped up 20 miles in the end on a large loop (see link), perfect day for it too...
