you two missed a nice ride today, the scenery around Belhus lakes was stunning today, lakes are frozen solid.

we topped up 20 miles in the end on a large loop (see link), perfect day for it too...

Sorry I missed meeting up looks like you had a good ride, did drop into the RSPB on that way back from lakeside on the off chance. I didnt really ride too much in the winter so not got a lot of the right gear and what I do have is worn out or falling apart.

Anyway got the new helmet and the Mrs bought me some windproof gloves, poped into Sports direct for the Mrs and found a nice Craghoppers windproof softshell for £30.

Managed to get out for a couple of hours this afternoon, glad I got the softshell and gloves, nice and toastie with just a baselayer on, beats the old fleece I have been wearing. Just need to sort the bottom half now.

Rode through the chase crossed over to Hornchurch country park and then Ingrebourne Hill, did the off road circuit and reversed back home. Recon around ten miles. First time riding in snow, great fun with the back slidding around, if a little hardgoing at times, photos not quite as scenic

Think we left the RSPB about 2 and rode the opposite way to you by the sound of it. least you got out thats the main thing..

the snow is really hard going on a hardtail bike, i had a ride of Cempa's full suss back to back with my hardtail and it was a 100 percent smoother over the rutty snow...
