There is no advantage running discs for jumping.

I would say there is an advantage as although they dont generate the heat the greater stopping power helps if you need to stop mid pack on a dirt jump set so you dont have to bail off and if you buckle a wheel you dont get an annoying rub which means you dont have to stop to true it every time and can just true after each ride (obviously depending on the size of the buckle!)
