Being a total novice at anything technical to do with my bike, I've booked myself to go on this free 2 hour class at Evans Lakeside.
Anyone been on it? Any good?

I could be intrested in joining you and learning some bike maintenance skills. Why i have no problem dismounting anything (and putting things back together with only three spear screws and one nut) its more of setting things up (ect gears brakes) that i struggle with

Can you just turn up or do you need to book in Spence?

Havent been yet, they cancelled the one i was booked on and i couldnt make the next one so will be re-arranging for sometime in june when im back from my hols.
my mate has been on it thouogh and he said it was ok, just basic stuff, the one good thing he got out of it was re-indexing gears, which is one of the things i wanted to learn how to do properly.
yeah they tried to sell him all the usual lubes, tools etc but he just said no thanks.
all in all for a free class, not too bad apparantly.

Did one a few weeks back, was quite basic but learnt a few bits, indexing gears, general maintenace advice. change a tube, disc and v brake adjustment and pad changing were the main thing covered. with a handy guide for future reference.

I was lucky to gt on one of the last free ones, its going to be around 15 quid with a goody bag at the end. Not sure it would be worth this for the hour of training you get.
