Ive done 3 rides in the last 3 weeks, only along the canal and twice came home early due to punctures :( Whats the best way to prevent them these days. I used to have that thick plastic roll between the tyres and inner, is there something better than that now?

Not too pricey but you need certain types of rims.

Wouldn't stans rim tape do the job on normal rims?

Whats causing the punctures?

Are they pinch flats or are you getting glass nails etc coming through your tyre?

Why come home early, carry spare tubes or patch kit and dosent take long to change a tube then carry on with the ride.

silly question but did you check theres nothing stuck in the tyre thats causing it to keep happening..

Punctures are a part of riding a bike... At some point you're get them... Those with tubes in more than those running tubeless...

You should always try and take the essential kit out with you like spare tubes and repair kit and pump.. Some tubes are thicker and can help prevent flats or put slime in the tubes to help seal them...

Indeed, even if I'm not taking the camel, I have tube, multitool, penknife and puncture kit in saddle pouch.

Then I've got options to quick replace tube if 1 puncture and kit to repair if any more. Never want my rides cut short, too precious :)

And yes, ALWAYS check what caused the puncture in first place as it can do easily be a thorn stuck in tube.. You replace, head out, and whadaya know, another puncture.
