Hey Dudes...

Gonna do the 7pm ride from Grips in Rayleigh tomorrow evening if anyone fancies it.

It leaves from outside shop at 7pm sharp. I'll be riding to either start or Hockley woods Rayleigh side entrance, then stay with ride until Daws Heath as they loop back towards Sainsburys, at which point I'll split back to Westcliff.

Ev

Phew... What a night.

Just before we got to meet point, Tony got what must have been about 5mm slit in tyre and tubeless wouldn't seal it.

At next stop, swapped a tyre in (thanks to one of the riders, as my spare was different valve).

Then headed off and bloody hell, they set a serious pace. None of the usual 2 minute stops to catch breath, just non-stop fast which I just couldn't handle tonight. There were a couple of other mechanicals too and that and the crazy pace meant we were all split up.

Me and Tony headed home from Progress Rd. as no point on trying to stay with the pace for Daws Heath bit.

Sorry your first time was that ride James :(

Think the ride we did on Sunday morning was still taking it's toll anyway. Really pushed (Jamie will concur ;) ) and just couldn't get up steam tonight.

Will get back into the swing of it and hopefully get out with the ride again soon.

Been out on a few Gripps rides, in the summer there's been 20 or so riders of all abilities so it's a steady pace and as good a ride as you'll find anywhere, BUT as it gets wetter, darker and colder only the hard core boys are there which is quite punishing, I've been dropped in the woods once and had to find my own way back, KEEP UP OR GO HOME. Like I say it's a great ride(20 miles off rd, night rd) but mid week it's hard work
