To take my bikes in to NZ they need to be spotless including the tyres. Given I have a minimum of 4 bikes on the family to clean what products do you guys recommend?

Well, i use warm soapy water for the most part, and then use methylated spirits (the purple one, not white spirits) to clean the drivechain and oily parts before re-lubrication. I use methylated spirits to clean the brake disks and calipers, but always make sure you use a clean cloth with methylated spirits when cleaning the brakes, so not to contaminate them with any oil. I havent had any problems with this method of cleaning. Others may use more fancy products, but i find the methylated spirits is fine.

I have a set of bike cleaning brushes and find soapy water with these does an excellent job, but if you're feeling lazy or because of the volume I find muc-off spray is fantastic and leaving it on for a few minutes cleans them to like new with just a hosing down.

I use Muc Off its very good and easy spray on quick brush, wash down.

I wouldn't use washing up liquid as its full of salt!!! Which will damage your paint work and components.

Any ideas for tyres as they will need to be immaculate.

Using these will have them ultimately clean: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=14412

But using muc off again will do the same job.

I use the Hope and it does a great job. I dilute it, cause it seems to be too aggressive neat.

Yep, never use washing up liquid for cleaning bikes, cars, etc... Full of salt.

I used to quote this to all and sundry in the car world, but..... salt is used as the abrasive and its dman good at it, just make sure you rinse it off properly, dont rush and you'll be fine.
