New tubes are pretty expensive - and I repair all my tubes with patches until they're covered in patches, but, patches are pretty expensive too.....

Anyone know of anything else I can use instead of patches?

Electrical tape works well..... but if anyone been using anything else I might try that.....

*I'm a student so I'm poor. Very poor.

There are various 'goo' substances you can fill your tube with which (are supposed to) stop small punctures, although if the offending item (thorn, nail) is still in the tyre it will just re-open the hole.

Wilkinson does a cheap range of bike stuff..mostly crap but tubes are ok.

I also bought a pressurised can of tube sealant for £1 which is supposed to pump up and fix your tyre, used it in Les Gets, it lasted about a minute, I landed on a table top and crahsed as it went flat :(

Disagree about the wilkinson tubes, decathlon ones are good though.

Buy cheap and they may not last you long...Cheap for a reason.... :? :?

You can pick up some good bargains from online bike shops...I picked up 3 Raleigh branded presta tubes for 4 quid not so long ago...

Niche market opportunity then.. Stock up while over here then reap the rewards when selling back home... Or solve all issues and go tubeless... :-)
