After a week away am now back and despite the weather looking a bit wet for the rest of the week will be venturing out on Thursday evening...

... all welcome and happy to adjust the pace appropriately to suit whoever comes out...

Meet: Stubbles Car Park

Car park is at the T-junction of Nursery Road and Connaught Avenue

Ride Time: 8:15pm (back to usual time)

Let me know if you'll be there....

Hi Northern,

I'm new to the area, and would be keen to join you on Thursday.

How long is the ride usually?
How does the route usually ride in the wet?

(not that either is a dealbreaker, just morbid curiosity!)

Look forward to Thursday!

Graham

I'll join you! Really enjoyed that last one.

LetharG - I assume it will be gloopy. Am keeping my mud tyres firmly on. Bike and kit will get muddy. The night ride I went on last time with these boys can be found here:

As you can see - not too fast, even when it was dry. A fair bit of stop start (which was nice).

See you there.

Awesome, cheers Vini, new tyres arrived in the post today, so should be a bit more stable!

Will look forward to it.

Happy days - always good to have some new faces!

Think Vini's answered most of your questions - but the Thursday night ride tends to be a reasonably mellow affair - the pace / number of stops being determined by who comes out!

Ride time tends to be 1-1.5 hours

Epping can get v.muddy - I rode last night and it was nice and dry/tacky but we had rain today and there's more forecast for this week - if you're still running mud tyres, leave 'em on, but wouldn't worry if not - I'll be on Minion F and HIgh Roller II rear.

That said - if really wet will head towards Theydon / Epping as this part of the forest copes better after rain

After all that, and looking out the window, I think I'll be giving this evening a miss.... the thought of riding home from the West End and then back out again doesn't exactly fill me with joy.....

Hopefully see you guys next Thursday!

Cheers for tonight guys. Must admit I got a little bit lost at the end there but the trusty Garmin saw me right.

Thanks for that guys, apologies I was riding like a bit of a pleb!

Will get myself properly sorted and join you again in a couple of weeks (why does my better half always arrange things for Thursday evenings!!)

Good to meet you all and catch you all soon!

Fun ride last night for sure but feels like I've only just managed to get dry!! Can't recall it being as wet as that for a long time - certainly adds to the technical challenge of Epping , which is no bad thing
