Hi, I after a decent cycling jacket preferable under 50 quid, wind and rainproof. I've been looking at them in numerous shops recently but I cant believe the prices of some of them!

Can anyone recommend anything?

Cheers

Jim

Hi. Ive been looking recently, first saw a Berghaus one in Millets, reduced from £80 to £50 but evenbtually bought a Fox Dawn Patrol one, which you can get for about £50 (CRC) I ordered mine from Jenson in the states, was about £12 postaghe but made it wothwhile by buying a few cheap t-shirts n DH jerseys too.

I got a new with tags Altura jacket of the bay.... Paid a £10 for it... Nice yellow one... Really good bit faded now with the bedgbury mud I tested it with a while back.... Stayed dry

I have the gore paclite jacket and am well impressed so far, it folds up small enough to go in the camelbak so I will allways carry it. got caught out last week with a sudden downpour and it did an excellent job of keeping me dry. not cheap tho

Yeah, washed it a few times. The back has the usual light mud stain look now though that won't come out, never had to do any re-waterproofing yet.

Hi, thanks for all the replies.

One last question, if anyone that has the Altura Nevis Waterproof Jacket in XL or XXL, could they possible measure the arm length for me please?!

I plan to get it online but as a lot of the jackets I've tried are a bit short in the arms I wondered if anyone could let me know their length. Cheers.

I have xxl 27" from armpit and 33" from shoulder I'm not much of tailor I'm afraid I'm 6' tall and is a nice length as well. Ive had mine about 5yrs and still like new except staining like Eccles and first washing machine wash today. Always been fine with the hose before but was very silty last night !
