Hello everyone.

I've moved to Hockley in the last year, and am looking to hook up with anyone who knows the Hockley Woods and surrounding area.

I've got a little loop I do just to keep the legs moving, but want to expand to about 1.5-ish hours worth of riding.

I have joined the Grips ride on Tuesday eves a few times, and really enjoyed it but I struggle to be home and ready in time so I'm ideally looking for weekend morning rides.

I'm told a goup meet at the Recycle centre in Progress road, so this might be a good choice, but it's easier for me to meet anyone in Hocklley Woods as it's 30 seconds from home.

Any offers/suggestions welcome.

Hey Dude..

We ride Hockley woods a fair bit. When the weather was better and the ground drier we tended to ride Hadleigh due to more downhill bits.

However, with all this rain, we've been hitting Hockey again as although muddy and slippery, at least it's not clay like Hadleigh.

We may be heading over that way this Sunday morning so will reply to this to let you know what the plan is. We come over from Westcliff so ride through Cherry Orchard, Gusted Hall, into Hockley woods, do the Grips route taking in all the various trails, then head back.

Hey there BJB as SurferEv said there are rides about there a fair bit, If you keep an eye on the rides section people post up all the time when and where, see you out and about soon.

The recycling center ride is the "muckers" group, been out a few times with them, head up from progress road in to head woods park before doing a few laps of Hockley woods, they have got a facebook page if you want more details

PS. we drop in just over from the bit you do..

We cross the field from Gusted Hall to the top of Bovers Lane, stop for 5 minutes at the bench there, then nip through the trees, along the edge of the field and dip into Hockley woods just there, so only a minute from you

Thanks for the text yesterday Ev, sorry I couldn't make it. The way my weekend panned out, Saturday was looking the better bet.
Keep me posted though, still keen to hook up and learn some new trails.
