Afan and Coed-y-brenin are excellent. Haven't ridden Llandegla so not sure what the best order to do the last two would be. Afan to Coed-y-brenin is more like 3 hours, pretty twisty roads. Although you're going just early enough to be missing the Royal Welsh Show (traffic is bad around Builth then).

Have spoke to chris before and he recommended we do both afan and coed-y-brenin. happy to stay at coed-y-brenin for saturday and sunday, sounds like theres plenty there for 2 days. we will be in that area so definatley need to book camping anyway.

seems we have agreed on afan for the friday, this is the weblink for the camping http://www.afanforestpark.co.uk/default.aspx?page=6584
sounds like you just turn up and pitch but ill ring them in the morning to confirm about booking.

found a few for saturday night and will contact them tomorrow.

Campsite at Afan is ok, its by a stream, lots of midges so pitch away from the water and take precautions against the midges.
No need to book that far in advance for camping there.
Major diversion on the trails at Afan at the moment. Not sure how long its on for but messes up the whytes trail and diverts it from the end of the energy section onto the skyline descent via a long uphill fireroad section.
Dont miss Llandegla from your plans.

Sorting out the camping for the trip. First night will be in Afan at the below site. Just rang them and we do need to book in advance but pay when we arrive which is £5 each.

http://glyncorrwgpondsvisitorcentre.co.uk/camping

Second night will be at the below site which needs to be booked and paid in advance - £7 each

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/t/Tan ... u-3281.htm

Confirmed: Me, Festa, Jim & Dazer
Possibles: Mattvanders+1, Beardee, Andydd & Hvac Matt.

I'd like to get the camping booked asap so if you are still unable to confirm then I will book for us 4 who are definates and you can then arrange your own camping.

I have booked the camping for both nights for the 7 people confirmed and for up to 7 tents - not sure if anyones going to be sharing so went all out and when we know I will just contact them again.

Confirmed: Me, Festa, Dazer, Jim, Mattvanders + 1 & HVAC MATT.

The Afan site we just pay when we get there but the Coed Y Brenin one has to be paid in advance. I'm just waiting for them to email me the details.

Re HVAC Matt's post above, I thought I had a 3-man tent that I could borrow but my mate is using it that weekend now so all I have is my 1-man.

Does anyone else have room in there's?
