Im after a new bottom bracket for my trek, but not sure what im looking at!

Theres quite a few different codes/types, my cranks are sram s1000 gxp.

Do I need to buy a sram one?

Hey yeah you do need a sram one as you say its a gxp do you know if its a compression fit gxp or an external bb gxp? they are a pain in the ass to be honest, i fitted one for a customer the other day and it caused nothing but issues, we had to put so much torque on it to stop any play it was unreal...

to answer your question if its an external gxp bb then you can just buy a new one (there arnt different sizes) you just need to find a gxp bb. the shimano stuff wont work with it!

Those superstars don't seem to have any good reviews, all look like they seize within a few months

Read the same about those and other people saying same.. Probably the only chink in their armour, other parts they sell is genially good... Think with a very important part like the bb it's better going for a tried and tested make...
