I imagine you mean cannondale?

Kona haven't built great bikes recently. And yeti are very good but also very expensive.

All depends on budget. You could go second hand if you can afford to pay straight up but don't want to spend too much. 1.5-2k would get you a nice bike.

For new bikes: Mondrakers and Lapierres seem great bikes for the money.

Not wanting to hijack the thread, but im also looking for a new DH bike as I sold my Kona Stinky 08 on sunday. Im looking to spend about 1500 on a used bike. boxxer shocks up front. nothing to old, 2010 etc. Got my eye on a norco team but it is a matter of price.

Check out my mate's Scott in the ForSale section. It's immaculate and some great upgrades. Seems your budget too.

You really need to give an idea of your budget, a new fully spec'd DH bike can cost upto £4-5K or even more.

But shopping around and maybe starting with a second hand frame and buying new some of the important bits you can build one for approx £1000-£1500, spent about £1500 on mine, maybe bit more for Commencal v1/Marzocchi 888's and mostly Saint gear with a few Superstar bits :)

Andy

Ebay and Pinkbike have a multitude of frames/forks.

Aha..a fair whack, well with that sort of dosh I'd be looking beyond Kona, Yeti and Cannondale.

Check out some issues of Dirt and have a look at the latest frames and what the pros are riding. Its a bit hard to find a store with a big stock of high end DH to have a try one but I notice that some of the local stores have done some trial days featured certain manufacturers.

I have a mate with the Intense SS2, it's lovely, might be able to build one up on your budget.
