Ok folks I think this deserves its own thread yeah why ??????????????????????????????????/

We have found ourselves a female (no offense to any other) that has balls of steel...in fact she puts me and a few others to shame... not that im particularly brave but alas SARAH was awesome.

How you ask well - We hadnt got 70 metres into the forest where Sarah (a novice fair to say) followed us over a log and off she come I think it was over the bars . brushed herself down asked a few questions about weight distribution etc and off we went. Right before I carry on about Sarah , just a little bit about the ride itself. We stayed north it was running superb for 95pcent of the time with just the odd boggy bits.. All in all a couple of hours fun riding was had before we cooled down with a drink at Karls then home.

Ok back to Sarah - We ventured over to the sex drop but before that theres the swoopy steep section with a couple of jumps if your going fast enough or rollovers if you are not.

We had a chat about it first and we/ I told Sarah that if you go into the steep down to fast dont bother using the brakes cos they wont slow you down so go in slowly.......

AHHHHHHHHHHHH - Unfortunately Sarah seemed to forget or misunderstand what we meant and had it in her head NOT TO USE HER BRAKES AT ALL..

I went first then Vin followed ...Theres was a boogy bit just before the end which is a short steep up so we just stopped. seconds later we heard a scream/shout me and vin looked up and Sarah was going at a monster speed yeah using NO BRAKES AT ALL from the drop in (FUCK THAT) Well she flew off the bike and faceplanted into the upside which tbh probably saved her from a more serious injury. I dread to think where she would of landed had that not been there . We cleaned her up best we could ... thanks Vin for the tissues... And we fully expected Sarah to call it a day.. Yeah

WRONG - Shaken but not giving in she got back onto the bike after we straightend the bars and saddle and managed to climb the uphill to the sex drop. I really hope it hasnt put you off Epping Sarah cos us lads were seriously impressed with your determination to carry on.
This girl is hardcore so RESPECT and this picture was taken early after it happened and I can honestly say it looked a lot worse by the time we got to Karls....

Ouch

ive met Sarah and took her for one of her first rides with us lot, was some months back over Thorndon and i agree shes got guts as done everything over there too..

Hope your feeling better soon, i know the spot where you came off and that is a pretty scary thought if you was going flat out down it...

Thanks for the write-up Ninja - I hardly dared to read it, have mostly blocked out the big bad fall.

You did forget to mention my third fall, where, rather than go over another log, I just fell and landed on a little sapling and pretty much had to stay there til Vin came and peeled me back off it.

Thanks again guys for looking after me - that's why I join in with groups so that I can be safe if something happens and I felt very well looked after on Saturday.

I'm out of action for the next couple of weekends cos of trips back and forth to Liverpool but I will be back and I might even use my brakes this time - may well go for something a bit tamer than Epping for my next outing though :)

Put me down for another one of those lovely beginners rides.....

I thought it must be a typo cos I looked fresh as a daisy after Hylands :)

Am healing well - got patched so that my nose doesn't scar too badly, got a tetanus jab so I don't get lockjaw and got anti-biotics to stop the infection in my face (gross) and I gave in and had a day off work yesterday cos I think I'd been running on adrenaline since Saturday and by Tuesday my body had decided not to bother any more.

Fresh as a daisy again now though!
