Hi Pete,
I think when i saw you last i said about riding in Langdon Hills, but its still a fair ride from Noak Bridge.

I live in brentwood and thorndon is just down the road for me, but i would choose Langdon Hills over Thorndon and i dont know of any other "riding" places around billericay/basildon. Billericay has some great hills, but no decent woods, (that you can ride in)

See you soon Ian

Hi Pete,

Like you I'm also in Basildon but as I don't drive choices are a bit limited - other than Langdon Hills really.

Not sure if it helps you though, but there are loads of cycle paths around here which you can at least use to stretch the old legs

HTH

Couldnt get my Sports Tracker app to link properlly so heres a screen shoot of my at Langdon Hills ride the othe week.

On the High Road, some of the small car park have nice little steep runs into the woods, although I dont know the area that well.

There's always rides on, was only that I was racing Sunday that I hadn't organised anything, but those weird crosser bikes you like may not be welcome ;)

Only joking

Hi ya Pete, welcome to the forum. What time you thinking of going? I fancy a blast round there this afternoon, and can introduce you to some of the trails.

Good to meet you both this afternoon, I got a bit of a shock though lol. There's me expecting a gentle pootle with a newbie, only to discover that explosifpete, is a seasoned roadie that eats hills for breakfast, and trackdemon is no slouch either! Held my own on the downhills though. Enjoyed it though, got a good work out and was introduced to some new trails myself too. The trails were surprisingly dry as well. Beginning to realise I'm not gonna get fit overnight, slowly slowly catchee monkey I reckon.
