Hiya Gents

Myself and two mates are riding up to Brighton the first weekend of Feb. Think its the 5th! Anyone keen?

Its 80 odd miles, but its gonna be stop and go ride.

Gonna be a good day. Might catch the train back on the day or stay the weekend. But I suppose thats up to each individual.

I got the gpx of the last time I did the BHF ride and we gonna follow that.

The BHF route is quite good, Not the most exsiting but good for riding that sort of differance.

Planning to do that ride/race again this year, any one else thinking about it?

Its not technical at all. One or two serious climbs but thats about the worst of it. Goes through the Downs a bit but thats about it. But its its just about the journey and a well deserved beer at the beach.

Our wives are probably going to drive down and meet us there. Its just gonna be a good day really.

Not doing the BHF event this year, hence us doing our own instead.

Sounds like a great chance to pull the rocky mountain out the shed! Might be a bit sort notice for the feb but mabe jump on one of the summer rides.

Have you been training for this or just very fit Noel?! I did 60miles 2 summers ago and it was bloody hard work! Was very hot though.

How long do you reckon it would take to ride?
I'm interested but have a feeling I would be knacked after the first 10miles

Bradley come do a XC ride with me this weekend or one of the night rides this week and you can decide from there. We planning a steady average pace. So its going to be more about hydration and nutrition. Worst case scenario my missus can pick you up should things go badly. But honestly if you can keep up with a quick pace over 20miles then 80miles will be possible in theory you just gotta concentrate on nutrition and pacing yourself. Its a good experience buddy.
