I bought myself an ICE V8 remote dropper seat post thingumabob the other day and when i fitted it the seat is too high by about 1" at it highest point, i have to balance on absolute tip toes :lolno:

so how can i lower the highest setting? i checked the post out and there is nothing to be done with that in the way of adjustment or butchery so i decided to lob 3/4" off my seat tube on the frame ! :wtf: look away now if you are worried about warranties and the like !!

before i start to cut:

as you can see the seat tube has quite an extension on it, intact its double the height of the seat clamp so by cutting it down i will stop water and much getting inside the seat tube through the exposed slot and anti-crack hole at the end of it.

get the saw out:

I went with a hacksaw and used the seat clamp as a guide for a straight cut rather than use the angle grinder and luck ! :problem:

end result:

on full lift the seat is now a little lower it means i can just and only just reach the floor without wobbling all over the place as i shift weight from one toe to the other :wtf: serves me right for being a short arse, i guess i could have worm platforms ?? but i was determined to have a dropper post, so far its really good, takes a little getting used to as you have to shift your weight up and down in conjunction with the lever to actually operate it, this can get get frustrating if you don't get it right first time

to sure i would recommend this unless like me you really want to have a dropper post and cant afford one with unlimited positions?
