Hi all

I'm looking at Shimano AM41or Five Ten Impact 2 Low buying online as most local bike shop don't stock either.
My old DC trainers have had it backs gone and hosing them down for many months not done much cop.

So look some of you have Five Ten Impact 2 Low. Are then clunky heave and east to wipe down?
Shimano's new AM41 my best price I found for price match is 57 quid. Five Tens 67 quid or next size up 8.5 at a whopping 85 quid are they that good long life.

Or is this just marking rubbish and old pare of cr@py trainers will do.

Well the majority of riders (me included) ride with 5:10 and the grip is great but the backs get word down quick, also if your going to buy 5:10's get the karvers with the Velcro strap to keep the laces together as I find I'm endlessly tying my laces

I got these mate and they are awesome! Cant fault them, except for the white. Read loads of reviews before I bought them and although I have never ridden in 5:10's the overall consensus was that these we as good if not better.

Vibram sole is great too.

I've got the 5.10 Freeriders in black/grey. Probably had them for 6 months or so now. They look good, not heavy, great grip, easy to clean and laces never come undone if you do a double knot ;)

Cycle Surgery have the 5.10 range in-store if you want to look before you buy.

The laces on 5:10s do my nut but they are a wicked shoe other than that. I use them for everything from XC to DH

I have the Marzocchi bomber version of 5-10 . Have to double tie the lace or as Jon says will do ya nut but other than that brilliant. Ive had mine 3 years now and are as good as the day I bought them.

Edit I do have 2 pairs lol

Thanks all for feed back. I like the Shimano AM41 as they are covered lace.

On the clean matter don't have OCD or need them to be so clean for an interview but the cleaner they are the quicker they dry out. I got Seal Skinz sock and are grate but the trainers stink stagnant water.

Them Shimano AM40 look good but suede.

Quote:
I made sure I waterproofed them with a spray first, the suede looks like it would soak water up

thanks

I love the AM40's

Basically the AM41 is the upgraded version of the AM40 (a plain black less gay version, no weird print of bamboo at the back etc)

Don't know if its the same for the 41 but the AM40 came with two different insoles so you could change the stffness of the shoe to your likes.
it comes in very handy if you like a stiff sole because after a while the rubber gets a bit more flexible

I have the low profile 5 -10. Excellent shoe except for their sponge like properties; if you get them wet takes days to dry out.

Even so would buy them again.
