Ive not used it since 09, (cs2 or 3?) so maybe its got better. Found it slow, buggy and unintuitive.

Gotcha, it's the first version I've used, so can't compare it to earlier ones, I haven't experienced any bugs, it does need a hell of a lot of processing power though. I've been using photoshop for years, so it feels reasonably familiar.

its £750.

 That it is. But as I said, if it was my money I'd go for elements, which does everything most people want, for 10% of the price!

I used to use it reguarly in the last century, v4.5 and it was a complete nightmare then, it'd improved slightly by cs2/3 but not 750 quids worth ;) :)

Brad, best bet to start with the free ones, windows movie maker or imovie and pay/upgrade if you find yourself limited or want to push the editing further. Use online tutorials to get started, learn the basics but ultimately its about getting the best footage you can.
