I have dislocated my finger after a stack at the weekend.....

Has anyone else done the same? and if so how long did it take to get back on the bike.....

I've got Torq12:12 in 2 weeks, so wondering if I will have any chance of riding the thing....

any hint/tips welcomed

(apologies for tenuous link to mountain biking)

Graham

Has it popped back into place yet (it will make you feel like vomiting !!) if not, do it, it will be unbearable pain when it goes in, but then settle and get sore as the bruising protects the joint and then it will ease off.

It doesn't matter what you ride

Yea, it's back in, an allmight wait in Swansea A&E on Friday, thankfully before the hordes of drunks arrived.

Is a bit swolen, not painful, but not a lot of movement there either.

I would not recommend dislocating a finger, or anything else for that matter!

Thanks

G

Expect to have the dislocated finger immobilized in a splint for at least a month. If there is damage to ligaments and tendons surgery may be required and a longer period of rest prescribed. The main object is to give the joint enough time to heal and allow the ligaments that hold the joint in place to regain their strength and elasticity. Once the initial healing period is complete the doctor will assign specific exercises to build finger strength gradually so that the finger won't be prone to future dislocation.

It's allright, I've got 7 other fingers and 2 thumbs to do that, just limits my choice slightly so no need to worry
