So, last year I got my hands on an old Rockrider 6.3 frame to do an experiment build so I could learn how bikes are put together.

Stripped it back to bare ally, scavenged and bought various bits for it so it's a bit of a Pick'n'Mix.

I started out building it for Surfette (test it a few times and if I liked the feel of FS then get myself and 2nd hand Stumpy) but as things progressed and I had a better idea of what it was gonna finish up as I informed her I was gonna keep it for myself ;)

Today, with some expert builder's help (My SurfBum), the final task of re-cabling the front brake was completed and she's finished. Well, for now anyway... ;)
I'm new to FS so will need to use her for a while and see what needs tweaking.

Looks neat! What's the rear shock and is it on the right way or does it not matter? Image

Yeah, stole that idea from the Bike Radar review of your bike in it's original form.

Last week I removed the big ring, swapped the 32 middle for a 36 and fitted a bashuard. Finally managed to get out in the saddle last night and seems like a good move.

Next step is try and find a good pair of 2nd hand U-Turn forks for reasonable money and it will be all set for trail centres as well as it's usual XC sessions locally :)
