Hi,

So i'm new here! I've recently moved to london from cape town and am keen to get into downhill here but i'm yet to see a noteworthy hill in the city area

So i was wondering if there are any other dh guys living in the city and if there is any decent riding not too far away that can be more or less reached by train? I dont really want to spend money on a bike i cant get full use of.

In any case, i've been riding for a good few years, haven't been totally involved with dh but did as much as i could with my previous bike and want to step it up now

Looking forward to it!

Jarred

Hi! Best place to go (I think anyway) is Aston Hill, you can get the train from London to either Wendover or Tring, both of which are only a few miles from the hill itself (it's a good warm-up, honest!). Other than that, there's not a great deal of pure downhill around here, but wales isn't all that far away if you've got a few days spare :D

Hey Jarred - most of the locations listed here http://www.essexhertsmtb.co.uk/mtb-trails.php can be reached by train.

the North Downs also has some excellent DH runs as does Swinley. Im going to put together a 1 pager about riding out of London soon so that might help as well
