Hello,

I am have been making short edits and helmet cam videos or my riding for a while now. However I am the only person out of my group of riding buddies who actually films so I often making self filmed edits or just shooting a few clips throughout a day. But I have recently been thinking about making a proper short film. It would be a part time project that I would film and edit over the next few months.

If you would like to be part of it, either side of the lens, just tell me what you could contribute. I would be grateful if someone with a bit of experience could help with the production. I don't have a very good camera either so a good camera man would also be useful!

The film would cover any aspects of mountain biking so if you would like to contribute just post below what you ride and any good spots you think we could shoot at. Once finished I would post the video on YouTube, Pinkbike ect...

Thanks,
Jack

Hi Mate, would be up for this.

Would love to get involved either in the filming and or riding part of it.

Mainly ride freeride/downhill.

Hahaha sound a bit similar to me ;) and I would be grateful of the help :)

@NorthernTom that sounds good, depending on what sort of riders would like to get involved will depend on what sort of riding will be in the film. But was thinking maybe a DH section at Aston and maybe some freeride at woburn and Chicksands.

I'm similar as well, any experience would be limited to the DVD's I've got. There's a good one on Pinkbike called being free filmed around Nottingham that was done by an amatuer, albeit, a very good amatuer.

I reckon you could get quite a few people from here riding aston hill etc. Also the new track (surface to air) beign built would be perfect as there's some pretty meaty stuff on there.

That film is actually one of my inspirations, the Woburn section is great! Okay sounds cool.

I'd be happy to get involved

Will be at chicksands monday 3rd and could bring along camera/tripods etc.
Only trouble is i'm moving to uni in norwich on the 10th

Just an idea, could get a load of people on here to film themselves at local spots/get people there to film them, then put it all into 1 edit for the site ?

That is a good idea! But if everyone is filing on different cameras and things it may look a little weird. We could make each section of the film a different group of people riding there spot? And we could find a willing camera man to film. My cameras arent great but I can edit, produce, direct ect... I could also get additional shots, so if someone with some good camera gear who is happy to film would be a camera man, that would be great!

It shouldn't be too bad

here is something similar done on pinkbike for 1 of the threads on there:

http://www.pinkbike.com/video/229893/

if we had every1 at each spot using the same camera then it will be no problem as each section would look the same

That video is okay but I was thinking of nicer looking video. If we can get a camera that we can hand around that would be great! But we could do a sort of video series maybe? so Each month we add a new webisode, each episode could be a different session with different people.

Thinking about it, over the winter I might just make a web series. I would call it 'The East' and if anyone would like to feature in an episode just post in here. I would aim to make it monthly.

Would it be possible for anyone to send me the 'Essex Herts MTB' graphics to put at the start of the videos?

I'd love to help out, I've been wanting to make a full-length film for ages, but have never got around to it. I like the idea of a web series though, sounds much more manageable!

Edit: Forgot to add, I mean with a camera, although if there's any need for some poor quality, slow riding and the occasional crash, I'd be up for that too....
