They sound like pompus bell ends.

The official bits of the country park on the website say its open 8 till dusk
http://www.visitparks.co.uk/placestovis ... rypark.php
which would be about 7.30 but thats for everyone including people letting their dogs crap everywhere

That only applies to the facilities like toilets and caffe's not the forest itself. There are night rides on this forum @ Thorndon all the time.

It's my 49th year of riding Thordon and that's a new one on me, I've even come across the Warden in the pitch dark on a no no trail without it being comented on.

They are talking rubbish.

I'm trying to get out but work seems to get in the way, plus I had a bit of a stack on the red route at Grisdale and still have a rather swollen thumb after 7 weeks.

Plus I had to buy a new lid as I broke the old one in said stack, so I'm at least glad I didn't leave any grey matter on the rocks up there.

Yep, chatting shit. I do all my riding around that time, since I can only really get out after work, apart from weekends. The park is officially open until dusk, but I think that's just the facilities really.

I tend to ride on the marked cycle tracks most of the time, just because of the way the weather has been, and I still get idiot dog walkers giving me looks when I cycle up behind them. Most people spot me coming and give me room, and I always thank them. But every know and then you'll get a twat that thinks they own the park, and makes zero effort to give you room, or get their animal under control.
